Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. The Cyrus siblings comprise two half-brothers and half-sisters, along with a younger brother, sister and half-sister. They named her Miley because she represented a huge chance for them. Miley is her childhood nickname Smiley. This was due to her cheerful disposition. Ron Cyrus is her Democratic politician grandfather. Cyrus was a student at Heritage Elementary School, Tennessee. After she was eight years old the family relocated from Tennessee to Toronto, Canada, where Cyrus's dad Billy Ray took a role in the TV series Doc (2001). Cyrus began thinking about acting at this point. The first role she played was alongside her dad in Doc (2001). Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003), in which she played an unimportant role as a child, also had a great success. As of 2005, Cyrus was cast as the lead for Hannah Montana, a Disney series Hannah Montana (2006), about a teen leading a double life as pop-star. Cyrus was accompanied by her father again. After the show's success, it was a time of hit songs, sold-out tour dates and sales for merchandise. Cyrus rose to fame as an early teen. Cyrus, who had starred in Hannah Montana (2006) and The Last Song (2010) along with Demi Moore, shifted to different roles.
